Community Guidelines
The HillBougie Community is a place for real people to share recipes, homestead wisdom, prayer requests, and encouragement. These guidelines exist to keep it that way — welcoming, family-friendly, and worth coming back to.
The Golden Rule
Treat every member the way you'd want to be treated at someone's kitchen table. Disagree respectfully, celebrate genuinely, and assume good faith. If something feels off, it probably is — skip the post.
What's Welcome
- ✓ Recipe swaps, cooking tips, and food photos
- ✓ Homestead questions — gardening, animals, building, DIY
- ✓ Prayer requests and words of encouragement
- ✓ Local events, meetups, and community announcements
- ✓ Selling or trading goods in the "For Sale / Trade" category
- ✓ Constructive debate — different opinions are fine when shared with respect
What's Not Allowed
- ✗ Content that isn't family-friendly — language, images, or topics you wouldn't show a 10-year-old
- ✗ Personal attacks, bullying, harassment, or name-calling
- ✗ Spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive commercial promotion
- ✗ Discriminatory, racist, or hateful content of any kind
- ✗ Sharing someone else's personal information without their consent
- ✗ Direct private user-to-user messaging (use the public board)
- ✗ Misinformation presented as fact, especially on health or safety topics

When creating a post, choose the category that best fits your topic. Staying on-topic helps members find what they're looking for and keeps the board organized.

How the Points System Works
Points are HillBougie's way of recognizing active, trusted members. The more you contribute positively, the more your standing grows. Points can never drop below zero — so don't be afraid to participate.
Earning Points
Badges
Reach certain milestones and you'll earn a badge displayed on your public profile and Account page. Badges are awarded automatically as you hit each threshold.

Moderation & Auto-Approve
Every post and reply passes through an AI content filter that checks for family-friendliness before anything goes live — this applies to all members at all times.
New members (under 100 points): your posts and replies are held in a moderation queue and reviewed by our team before appearing publicly. This usually happens quickly, but please be patient.
Trusted members (100+ points): your posts and replies go live immediately after passing the AI filter — no waiting required. Reach 100 points by contributing positively and you'll earn that trust.
We reserve the right to remove any content, suspend any account, or revoke community access at our sole discretion, even for trusted members, if guidelines are violated.
